Casey Stichter was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania where from a young age, knew he wanted horses to be an important part of his life. His interest began with a 4-H contest and evolved into an interest in the Arabian breed. Casey began showing Arabains and Half Arabs with a focus on western pleasure, hunt seat and halter. He attended the State University of New York at Morrisville where he focused on Ag Sales and Services with an emphasis on Equine.

Following college, Casey went to work as an assistant trainer at one of the most successful and high-profile Arabian show barns on the East coast. During his free time from the show barn, he became interested in speed events, specifically barrel racing and began to complete with some success. As his interest in the western world of horses grew, he moved to Colorado to work as a wrangler at a guest ranch where he cared for 30 plus horses and guided guests on mountain trails. By 2013 Casey was promoted to head wrangler, increased his knowledge of western riding and found a sturdy partner in Dox Marshall, a 2005 AQHA gelding. Casey and Marshall began to pursue barrel racing during the off season at the ranch and by 2015 were consistently winning checks in many prestigious races throughout Colorado.

Working at the guest ranch provided Casey the opportunity to keep several horses in training and market horses for private clients. During the off season, he filled his time with hauling client horses to jackpots, seasoning colts, and marketing safe and honest horses. As his success in the barrel arena grew and with the sale of several high-profile horses, Casey’s clientele list began to grow. He made the decision to leave the guest ranch to make CS Horse Services his full-time occupation and priority. In the summer of 2019, Casey moved to a convenient, centrally located facility in Elizabeth, CO where his business could grow and thrive.

Today, CS Horse Services provides premier training at the facility in Elizabeth, specializing in barrel horses. Training services include starting colts on the pattern, seasoning novice horses, building the resumes of finished horses, and even diagnosis of problem areas and retraining. On the marketing side of CS Horses, Casey has developed a solid reputation of providing customers with a positive, first-class buying and selling experience of quality, trustworthy horses. The consignment program has helped match and place barrel, ranch, pleasure, and kid’s horses with new owners, many of whom have become repeat clients.
